UPVC Replacement Door Handles

As time passes the handles on your doors will wear down and will require replacement. It is essential to keep the same dimensions as the handles you have previously replaced when replacing them.

Inline Lever/Lever

The sprung lever design allows the handle to be set and angled for comfortable operation and is suitable for all users. The handle has been tested to 200,000 cycles. This will ensure the quality of the finish and performance of the handle over time. The sprung lever is also adjustable to accommodate a wide range of locks. This is particularly useful for narrower door frames in which the cylinder is further back. A shorter lever can be used on doors with latches that can be activated with the thumb inside.

Lever Pad

A Lever Pad door handle made of upvc operates differently from lever-type handles that are found on the majority of doors. The handle can operate from a single spindle (inline) or independently from each side using two inline or offset spindles (pad). They are usually employed on UPVC double glazed doors and come in a variety of styles and styles.

The handles have been tested to at least 200 000 cycles and are available in several finishes, including white window handles, Silver, Chrome & Gold. The finish meets BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, which gives the handle a high level of durability and performance for the intended use.

All UPVC lever pads for handles include a spindle and screws and can be mounted on a uPVC door. The backplate fixation centres of 211mm permit a larger handle, which is often a benefit when replacing an old aluminium window handles or damaged multi-point door lock mechanism. The handle levers are sprung, solving the problem of door handles sagging out of the horizontal position when not in use.

When selecting a replacement UPVC handle and spindle, it is important to match the PZ dimensions of the multipoint lock as well as the uPVC door. This measurement is often referred to as the 'handle centre' or 'cylinder centres and is an essential aspect of matching up the correct handles.

Once you have the proper PZ size, you'll have to ensure that the lever pads and push pads are a suitable shape for the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) approved handles you require for your doors. Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks are typically used on uPVC doors, but they can also be used on other types of doors. The cylinder lock operates by using a key that unlocks the cylinder's case. The case is then able to reveal pins that can be aligned to those inside the lock, allowing them to rotate the revolving camera, thereby opening the door. Euro Cylinders are available with up to six pins. Internal and external doors require different levels of security.

The choice of the correct cylinder is vitally important; this depends on the way your doors and handles are utilized. External doors, for example should be equipped with higher security cylinders, whereas doors inside can be secured using the standard cylinder. Certain cylinders come with extra features that can increase security, such as anti drill or anti bump properties.

To ensure that the euro cylinder is of the right size for your door, it should be measured accurately. The cylinder should be measured from the hole for fixing screws in the middle to the end of the cylinder, including the thumb turn if you have one. It is recommended to do this while the lock is in place however if this is not feasible, you can take it off and take it off to measure. It is important to ensure that there is no cylinder that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This could make it vulnerable to lock snapping attacks.

Most newer cylinders have been constructed with anti-drill and bump resistance features included in their design. These features are designed to minimize the risk of attack by causing the cylinder to rotate in an opposite direction. This will help to deflect attacks and protect your door.

Certain cylinders are made to resist snapping. This is a common attack on cylinders. A special tool is used to break the break line of the lock and then the front of cylinder is snapped off. This is a much faster and more convenient method of gaining access than using the use of a multipoint locking system. It also leaves no evidence of the break-in which could hinder insurance claims.

Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is positioned inside the base of your bifold door handle replacement handle's backplate, providing a spring solution to return the multipoint lock handles back to their original position after usage. Previously a lot of these types of handle did not have a spring integrated into them, and without it they are more likely to slide or drop when the locking mechanism has been disengaged. This simple part is the best solution to address this issue. It also prevents your door from getting stuck in either the closed or open position since they are difficult to close manually.

These spring cassettes are specifically designed to be used with multipoint locks sprung, they will not fit non-sprung multipoint handles. You must have a custom hole cut into your backplate in order for them to fit (please check the image for a technical diagram). These cassettes are a replacement for damaged or missing cassettes that are in the backplate of uPVC door handles. They are available as one unit. They feature a square cut out that accommodates an 8mm shaft.
