3 Wheeler Buggies

A three-wheeler is ideal for off-roading providing the most comfortable ride for your child. They are also easier to push and manoeuvre than a four wheel buggy and are especially suitable for those with fabric slings or seat units that are positioned tightly in the frame and provide the best shape and weight distribution.

Stability

Three-wheeled buggys are extremely stable, making them an ideal choice for off-road walking (especially when equipped with a seat that is all-terrain or off-road). They often feature oversized front wheels, which can cope well with bumps and kerbs as well as rough terrain. Some even come with a lockable front wheel to provide extra stability on uneven terrain.

It's worth bearing in mind that 3-wheel buggies can have a lower center of gravity than models with four wheels and this can mean that they fall over more easily. The most reliable 3 wheel baby stroller-wheeled pushchairs are made with the best geometry to ensure that they remain solid in all conditions. They should be able to turn at a whim and be easy to steer with just one hand and have a 360o swivelling front wheel which makes them perfect for manoeuvring and navigating difficult terrain.

Older infants and toddlers will appreciate the large and comfortable seat with adjustable ventilation. It's worth noting that the seats aren't fully reclined, but they can be adjusted to the lowest level which will give your child plenty of headroom and space to move around.

A sling seat made of fabric is also available. It offers the advantage of being positioned snugly inside the frame, rather than on top like a modular seat and this delivers a much lower centre of gravity and perfect weight distribution. This makes it easier to push, especially over bumpy terrain and curbs. MFM reviewer Kath liked the way this type of seat dealt with the obstacles.

This kind of buggy comes with a large basket and other features that are useful such as an hood that can be extended with 50+ UV protection, a simple to use brake pedal, and some innovative visibility lights that can be positioned in front of the occupants for improved safety on difficult terrain.

Storage

The 3-wheeled frame is much more stable and can be pushed with just one hand. It's also more suitable for terrains that are difficult to navigate. However, it does mean that the basket won't hold as much as a 4-wheeler buggy.

A good quality ATP will have excellent suspension, pneumatic tyres as well as padding for the handle to ensure your convenience. It will be able to accommodate a carrycot or a car seat, so you can use it from the time of birth.

The MFM reviewers noted that the 3-wheeler frames couldn't pass through their doors at home or car boot. If you're worried about space, be sure you check the dimensions of the buggy once it is folded prior to purchasing.

PU tyres are found on more pushchairs than the air-filled tyres but they're still as robust. PU tyres are easily identified by their matte finish and soft feel. They also slide over flat and tidied surfaces.

If you move your hand over the tyres you can tell if they're rubber or PU. If it feels like it's sliding, then it's a rubber or PU. You can also check that your buggy is fitted with PU tyres simply by sliding the tyres onto an even, clean surface They'll be able to roll easily and fit snugly into their wheel hubs.

Foam tyres are often utilized in high-performance buggies and joggers since they are able to cope with the rough terrain that's associated with this type of pushchair.
