iRobot Roomba Combo Review

iRobot Roomba combo adapts to your habits of cleaning and suggests programs that work for you. Smart mapping, automatic scheduling, and Clean While I'm Out are just a few of the carefully designed features that are powered by iRobot OS.

The roomba combination is also a powerful mop, but it lacks the advanced features that make Roomba j7+ an outstanding sweeper. It switches from sweeping to mopping when it senses a damp surface. A small robot arm lifts a small water tank/dustbin combination, and a new pad is inserted into the cleaner when you press the button.

Its navigation was in line with the top iRobot robots I tested, and it made good progress even when the route was not clear. It's not the best in avoiding obstacles, but it was able to identify and find a way to get around larger objects such as socks and toys that get in its way.

The app lets you alter your schedule. You can design a specific cleaning path and also create Keep Out Zones (or Clean Zones) that guide the robot in the right direction. It also provides the actions it has taken and its health status. You can also pair it with Alexa, Siri or Google Assistant enabled devices to provide voice control. Object Detection

iRobot combo robots automatically detect and avoid objects like tables, couches, stairs chairs, pet toys, laundry hampers and other household clutter. They also make use of sensors to recognize carpets and rugs. Then, they alter their cleaning settings according to that recognition, helping to prevent wet messes. They also have an automatic dirt sensor that informs the robot when it is time to stop and resurface for further cleaning.

With Smart Mapping, Roomba maps your home 7x faster, names rooms to start targeted cleaning earlier and can be customized to keep Out Zones and Clean Zones. You can command your robot with voice commands or the app when used in conjunction with Alexa Siri or Google Assistant.

Navigation

The Roomba Combo uses Imprint Smart Mapping technology to learn and map your floorplan and then re-maps it as required. Battery Life

The Combo J7+ is powered by a lithium-ion battery, which is powerful enough to keep your home clean. Its water and dust bin tank can hold 200 and 400 ml respectively, and the robot features a high-efficiency filtration system to capture dirt particles and prevent them from getting back to your flooring. It also works with iRobot's apps and voice assistants, making it easy to control the robot using your smartphone or other devices.

The Combo J7+ is also able to take pictures of objects in order to avoid them on future cleaning trips. However, iRobot chose not to add automatic mop pad washing which we've seen many high-end robotic cleaners recently. This is a minor issue however it would have been nice to see this feature included on the Combo J7+. Apart from that the Combo J7+ is a breeze to use and has an excellent warranty policy.
