Three-wheelers are an excellent choice for a stroller that is light and can still handle some more rugged terrain. The Thule Shine is an excellent option, and we've have named it the previous winner in this category. It's more expensive than our other choices, but it's a solid product and has many features (car seat compatible! dual cup holders!) which makes it a worthwhile investment. It can also be folded down to fit into the overhead bins of airplanes, making it an excellent option for families who travel frequently.

The BOB Sport Utility

It also has a state-of the-art suspension system, two-step folding, and a huge cargo basket. You can even use it with a car seat for your infant if you buy the right adapters.

The biggest drawback to this jogging stroller is its weight and size folded. It weighs 25 pounds and folds to 17,850 cubic inches which is the standard for this group. The size of its footprint makes it unsuitable for tight turns or small trunk space. It does however have an incredibly small handle in the rear of the storage bin that can be pulled to fold the stroller into a compact, flat position.

The stroller is easy to maneuver, despite its size. The front wheel comes with a locking mechanism, which allows you to switch between locked and normal mode. The handlebar can be adjusted for different parent heights. It also comes with a wide seat that can recline nearly flat, and has a large vinyl peek-a-boo window that's easy to open and close.

The Sport Utility also scored a 9/10 for its exceptional quality. It has a thick aluminum frame that has strong connections and has no rough edges or poor stitching. It also has adjustable dampers which help with the smoothness of the rolling.

As with the other BOB strollers we've reviewed the Sport Utility has optional car seat adapters that allow you to use it with various infant car seats. In our tests, it took us about 5:24 minutes to put together the stroller from unpacking it before it was ready to go. It was easy enough to do, but you'll require a Philips head screwdriver to complete the task. The instruction manual included is clear and well-organized, but it's a good idea to have one on hand in the case.

The Baby Trend Expedition

This jogger has been designed with safety, style and convenience as its primary goals. It comes with an adult tray with 2 cup holders and covered storage, and the child tray which can be swung away and has two cup holders. The adjustable canopy, with its peek-aboo windows and extra-wide ergonomically-shaped handle, provide comfort for both parents. The lockable front wheel can be unlocked when strolling and locked for jogging. The large storage basket is ideal for storing the essential items you need to travel with.

In the Strollers test program from Consumer Reports, the Baby Trend Expedition Jogger does well overall for the price, and is rated higher than its competition in various categories. The 5-point harness that folds, unfolds and adjusting backrests and engaging brakes on the wheel and infant car seat installation and removal (only compatible models) are all included. It is designed with an easy recline with one hand, that is sufficient for napping. The canopy cover that has the ratcheting mechanism can be difficult. It takes around 8 minutes to set it up. The instructions are confusing, with several languages mixed in with difficult-to-read drawings.

The only drawback to this stroller is that it does not have suspension, which means the ride could be more bumpy than some of the other all-terrain strollers we've tested. This can be uncomfortable for children who are younger especially if their nap is about to begin. It does have tires that are filled with air however they don't offer the same amount of shock absorption as the rubber wheels found on higher-end strollers.

This is a great choice for those who don't want to run frequently however want to move over gravel and grass with ease and without any issues with curbs or other obstacles. It's an excellent choice for families who have little space, since it folds into a relatively compact size. It's lighter than many of the other strollers we've tested, and will fit into places where large strollers aren't able to.

Another benefit is that it's much more easy to carry and lift than the heavier Joggers we've tested. This is important when you have to lift it in and out of your trunk frequently or if you are always on the move.

The Nipper Sport V4

If you're looking for the best jogger that can handle all terrains and conditions, take a look at the Nipper Sport V4. This new version of Out 'n' About's 3-wheeled stroller designed specifically for jogging and comes with big 16 pneumatic alloy tyres to tackle even the most difficult paths and tracks. The Nipper is compact and lightweight making it easy to transport and fold.

This pushchair has a number of features that make it suitable for tackling all types of terrain with front suspension as well as a handlebar brake. It has a removable quilted liner and multi-position recline, as well the safety harness, which is padded to five points and a hinged bar. It's also compatible with travel systems, so you can use it with the Cybex Maxi-Cosi or Be-Safe baby car seat.

This buggy also has an enormous front wheel that assists in providing an enjoyable ride for the child. This is crucial, particularly when you're dealing with difficult terrain. It is easy to open and close. There are only two handholds required to release the plastic catch on either side of lower frame. There is a second lock catch on the handlebar in red which can be opened with just one hand, making it extremely easy to use.
