Bagless WiFi-Connected Robot Vacuum

This bagless modern vacuum wifi-connected robot has an all-black, utilitarian design. Its price is competitive with other top-of-the-line smart robot vacuums for homes.

You can control it using the physical Clean and Dock buttons on the top, via the SharkClean app or with voice commands via Alexa and Google Assistant. It comes with a variety of smart features, such as home mapping and virtual no-go zones.

Matrix Clean

A powerful whole home cleaning product from America's leading vacuum cleaner brand (based on NPD Group/Retail Tracking Services sales data). Matrix Clean features incredible suction power, Matrix & Precision Home Mapping, and an auto-emptying base.

It's easy to connect the Matrix to your WiFi and begin mapping your rooms using the SharkClean app on your smartphone. After mapping, the app lets you set up an agenda for your robot to keep your home tidy or select rooms to let the Matrix automatically start a cleaning session. You can also create 'no-go' zones such as beds or closets, that you do not want Matrix access to.

The app lets you use the "spot cleaning" function at any time. You can choose an area that is dirty on your floor map, and the robot will then clean the area on its own with several swipes on its cleaning pad. It really does a good job picking up everything from loose dog hair tumbleweeds to tiny bits of cut paper scattered from a recent project.

The Matrix will return to its dock once it is done cleaning and empty itself in the bin that is included. This is a great feature since it cuts down on the need to perform maintenance.

This robot's LIDAR mapping sensor is situated right on top. This can make it difficult to climb under furniture that is low such as sofas and tables. However, if you're okay with being a bit taller than other robots, this is still a very good choice. Also, keep in mind that this model doesn't come with an HEPA filter like some of the other models on this list.

Precision Home Mapping

Shark's Matrix Clean Navigation uses a precise grid that leaves no area unexplored and a powerful suction pulls dirt and debris into a self-emptying 60-day bagless intelligent vacuums base. Precision home mapping combines 360deg. LiDAR imaging and a precise homemap that is available in the SharkClean App that allows fully autonomous movements and intelligent object avoidance. At night or day, it generates a detailed map of your area to allow for complete navigation without crashing into furniture or other obstacles. This means that your robot will be left to finish a cleaning schedule or you can trigger Matrix clean on demand and set specific targets for your room through the app.

Powerful Suction

The RV2502AE is a reliable mid-range robot vacuum that can tick all the boxes. It's user-friendly and creates precise home maps and has an empty bag that self-empties. It is also cheaper to run than other robot vacuums.

It also has plenty of power, sweeping up debris through its suction opening and relying on its side brushes to push carpet and hair threads into the brushroll. This helps prevent the accumulation of dirt and clogging of the brushroll that is seen on other robotic vacuums, and makes this model more efficient in removing pet hair.

This robot features a powerful suction that self-empties the base and a high-efficiency HEPA filtering system that traps 99% allergens and dust mites. It also has two power modes to fit different types of floors and a remote that allows you to access all its functions. It's also compatible with voice assistants such as Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant to allow you to start a cleaning job without touching the robot.

While it's a great choice for homes of all kinds but some may be unable to navigate it. The bump bot had issues with stairs. Other bump bots can avoid them but this one could not. It relied on infrared and LiDAR sensors to map the house however it was constantly mistakenly assuming my cat's house for stairs and demanded that I move it out of the way. It also had a shorter runtime than the advertised time of 180 minutes.

Self-Empty Base

A few robots, including this one - come with self emptying robot vacuum bagless-emptying bases which vacuum or dump the debris in the onboard dustbin into an external dirt compartment to make maintenance easier. They are referred to as Clean Base Dirt Disposal (iRobot), Auto Empty Station (Ecovacs) or Bagless Self-Emptying Base (Shark). These are a convenient alternative however they can be noisy and messy. They typically require special disposal bags.

This Shark model includes a HEPA filtered bagless base. It has a massive capacity. It can hold debris for up to 60 days and doesn't have to be cleaned daily as other models. Shark's incredible suction can handle even the most difficult messes. The docking station's vacuum system to empty the dust bin is quite noisy.

When the robot is plugged in and charging, it will emit a beep and a green light on its top will blink to indicate that it's ready to begin cleaning. If the battery of the robot vacuum bagless is at a low level, it will dock to its base until recharged. It is crucial that the dock, also known as Self-Empty Base is set up so that it is not blocked by furniture or other objects and is free of obstructions.

This model is a little more expensive than other mid-range robotic mop models we've tried. It's better built and performs better on flat floors. It also has a longer battery life and fewer maintenance requirements. It also comes with more extensive range of automation features, such as virtual boundary markers. The iRobot Roomba i7, however is still our preferred choice because it feels more durable and more sophisticated, charges faster and is able to be tangled with rug tassels less frequently and has a greater capacity battery.

Easy Setup

The Shark AI Ultra comes with a simple-to-use Schedule that takes just a few inputs. You can select the date and the time of sunset and sunrise, the duration of the ramp time (increasing or decreasing the brightness) and if you want to switch on the lights when it gets dark.

It does not include voice control or smart mapping like Alexa and Google Assistant but it has a highly useful, free programming suite. The suite includes a variety of Windows-based tools to allow for the setting of operating parameters and communication settings as well as dmXLAN switch and node configuration, real-time test and fast replication of the configuration to multiple installations.

The interface is simple to comprehend even for the most inexperienced user. It has tabs on the top that correspond to the different screens that the installer will display, and there are also tabs to play around with the different options for messages and colors. It's a powerful tool, and it lets you build a quick and easy program installer. The program is just 1.3MB in size and can be used with Windows 7 to Windows 95.
